December 8: Give Back!

Our special guest this month will be Rusty Barnett, Director of Hope House. Hope House was founded in response to the 1997 serial murders of women on the streets of Spokane to offer women protection from violence on the street. Operated by Volunteers of America since 2001, Hope House is dedicated to making a significant difference in the lives of homeless women. Rusty will tell us about the stories of the women sheworks with, and the day-to-day life of Hope House.

In the spirit of the holiday season of giving, we will also participate in a project that will benefit the women of Hope House.  They are in need of travel size toiletry items, hats and scarves. During the luncheon we will pack bags with assortments of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, razors, and deodorant. Please bring some items to donate if you can. The
Knitting Club will also donate the hats and scarves that were knitted with love.
